Alexander Meddings

 

Born in Britain and based in Rome, Alexander Meddings is a professional writer and historian. His love affair with Italy and the Mediterranean dates back to his childhood, and the excursion-packed family holidays he was treated to each summer. After graduating with a BA and MPhil in history, at the universities of Exeter and Oxford respectively, he moved to Florence, Italy, in 2015. Four years later, he moved to Rome to ply his trade in travel and tourism and pursue his passion at the source.

Harald van Gils

 

Harald is a Dutch writer and author of A pilgrim’s guide to abbeys and monasteries in the Netherlands and Belgium, which can be purchased on Amazon via this link.  Always interested in religion and spirituality, Harald spent 18 months visiting over 100 Monasteries in the Netherlands and Belgium as research for his book.

 

Kevin J. Wright

 

After graduating from Washington State University, Kevin embarked on several pilgrimage trips to Europe, including backpacking through eighteen European countries, researching and visiting many of the major shrines, sanctuaries, monasteries, and convents.  This led to the writing of his award-winning books Catholic Shrines of Western Europe: A Pilgrim’s Travel Guide, Catholic Shrines of Central & Eastern Europe: A Pilgrim’s Travel Guide, and Europe's Convent and Monastery Guesthouses, A Pilgrim's Travel Guide which is available to purchase on Amazon via this link. 

Kevin has led guided tours to Europe and the Holy Land, served as a contributing writer to several national publications, and appeared on Catholic radio and television programs.  He lives in Los Angeles.

 

Grace Harrex

 

After years of studying Italian, including a degree in Italian Studies and Modern Languages, Grace found herself making the jump and moving to Italy to further her knowledge of the language and culture, whilst teaching English at a secondary school in Potenza, Basilicata. This time in Italy amplified her passion for all things Italy; the food, the architecture, the nature.
Now back on English ground, Grace started working with Monasteries.com in 2023. She works closely with the properties on Monasteries.com, managing their profiles and always searching for Monasteries in new locations. You can also contact Grace here for enquiries about affiliate partnerships.
