The Maison features 80 beds in 50 rooms with one to three beds and a private bath. There is a room accessible to the handicapped. All rooms have a telephone.
Constructed in the 16th century on the site of a medieval priory, the Maison is where the monks of St-Jean en Vallée found shelter when their monastery was destroyed by fire. They remained until the French Revolution. Once a seminary, the diocese turned the building into a guest house to host pilgrims to the cathedral and tourists on holiday.
All meals are available: Breakfast 6.60.Self-service lunch or dinner at 10.00 each.
Towels and linens are supplied. There are three small private gardens and conference rooms.

Directions: By car: From Paris take A10 and exit at Thivars/Chartres Nord and follow the signs to the centre. A detailed map is available on the website. By train: Get off at Chartres. Take a taxi or bus to the Maison.
