There are 130 beds in a 3-story guest house. Rooms are all double; 22 have private baths, the remainder shared baths. Both men and women are welcome.
The monastery was founded in 1527 by the Dominican Order. Over the centuries, the institution grew in importance, much of its growth due to its central position near Madrid, Toledo and Cuenca. A novitiate center for missionaries to Asia (Vietnam, Japan, China), it wasn't closed during the suppression of 1835. Many friars educated in the monastery were sent to the Far East and many died during their mission; six were canonized on October 1, 2000.
All meals are supplied. Those staying out all day can request picnic lunches. Meeting rooms are available for guest use.
