The monastery originally belonged to the Benedictine Order and between the 16th and 18th centuries was an important spiritual centre. Closed during the suppression of the religious orders, it later passed to the present order. The monastery and its church are Gothic in design, simple but quite beautiful. The complex preserves the miraculous statue of Mary. The 17th-century refectory now serves as a dining room for guests.
