Storia

The Congregation of the Holy Spirit is a Catholic missionary society founded in France in 1703, with the mission of bringing the message of the Gospel to the whole world.

It works more particularly with the most underprivileged populations, providing them with material support and spiritual comfort.

Established in Africa since the beginning of the 19th century, the Congregation has played a very important role in the evangelization of the black continent. Announcing the future role of the Spiritans in Africa, Father Schwindenhammer (Superior General at the time) affirmed in 1853: "Africa should be considered as the soul and consider it as the main work of this congregation".

The Spiritan Museum of African Arts located in the sanctuary invites young and old, Christians or not, art lovers or novices, to discover the riches of African culture of yesterday and today, in a spirit of openness and simplicity.

Cibo & bevande

The Sanctuary also provide catering for the guests at the restaurant.

It is a family kitchen, with local fruits and vegetables and often from organic farming.

The catering is prepared and served on site, so large groups can prepare their meals in a self-managed kitchen.

Terreni & Giardini

A large wooded and enclosed park conducive to healing and hosting camps completes the hospitality offer. The 3 ha enclosed and wooded park with ornamental pond, sports and sanitary grounds. It is particularly suitable for hosting camps.

The sanctuary also favors the reception of groups of disabled people, with 7 rooms adapted for a capacity of 14 disabled people.
