Capodimonte is a quaint town ideally located for day excursions to Orvieto, Viterbo and Montefiascone. Directly across the lake from the Domus is the town of Bolsena. It boasts an interesting medieval section dominated by La Rocca, a 12th-century castle. The Museo Territoriale focuses on the evolution of various civilizations endemic to the area.
